Diekirch Cavalcade 2013

Well, we decided to start a little tradition and visit Diekirch again this year and see new floats and crazy costumes.  Kids, of course, we looking forward to the candy that participants throw from the floats.

But first of all, here are some pics of the people that came to watch the parade.

Yes, this girl got a  lot of candy ;)

Almost as much as this kitty...

We love SUPERHEROs and everything connected to them.... This guy was not in the parade, but we had to take his picture.

Princess zombie bride...

Cave people

Yes, this guys is passing out free beer.

Jailbirds

"Innocent bystander"...

Jesters

This year we were more prepared, we dressed warm, but the temperatures lingering at  0 degrees Celsius (32 Fahrenheit) just were not friendly.  We very glad that we had a chance to attend the Cavalcade in Diekirch.

Carnaval Holiday

This week the kids are off from school.  Yesterday we went to the Diekirch.   We truly enjoy seeing the floats, but the kids LOVE the candies that people through at them.  I have not had a chance to go through and select the pictures for the post.  But  today we went to the local celebration at the mall, so kids can have a little fun while it is snowing.

Carolyn and her friend are no into the dressing up, but they still had fun.

Our kids were the first ones to get animal balloons.

The girls did some crafts

...so did the boys

We had a fun afternoon.  A great start to the holiday week.

Carolyn has turned 9 years old!!!

Last Tuesday our Carolyn has turned 9 years old.  Time is flying!!! After a LOT of pondering she decided to have a sleepover party. She has invited 6 girls. I thought it might be a little too much, but after all I guessed surely someone would not be able to make it.  All girls shown up!

I made a little collage with Carolyn's pics.  She thought it was cheesy but Ashley and I enjoyed looking at the pictures of her growing up.

At the beginning of the evening girls decorated their own notebook.

These girls are really creative.

They also took turns playing on the piano.

We have also made some soap....

...and opened some presents

Needless to say Ian and Nochka wanted to be right there with the girls

Next morning, those girls were a little tired ;(((  You can see on their faces as they watch some TV after breakfast on Saturday morning.

Carolyn decided to open the gifts from the family on her birthday day, so these are some gifts from mimi and grandma W.

I hope next year Carolyn will have another idea for her birthday party :)))
