Start of a Rainy Summer

Carolyn was talking with one of her friends this week, "So how is school going?" Reply: " I don't have school anymore!?"  Carolyn: "What?!?!?! You summer has already started?"  The thing is our kids still have three weeks of school left.  They are out on the 13th of July ( granted they start back the 15th of September).  In addition, it has been raining on and off here ( what a surprise !), and the temperatures have not been crossing 72 degrees.  So, with that said, it does not feel like summer here yet.  I am hopeful though.

Last Sunday, during the walk in the woods, Ashley found these two fellas.  I guess they are appreciative of all the wetness.

I thought it will help to see how big those things are.  And people eat those :(((

Our next encounter was much more pleasant.  This picture is taken from our balcony, facing our back yard.  Our neighbors were not very happy as this creature kept eating the flowers on the rose bushes.

The highlight of our last weekend was Ian's Birthday Party.  We had couple of our new friends over.  It is interesting to mention that only one of them is Luxembourgish.  Her husband is Swedish.  Another couple are South Korean and Danish.  I find it very fascinating our diverse is this small country of Luxembourg.  But, back to the pics:

This was the absolutely most favorite gift (from his mimi and papa).

Legos!!!!

Here Ian is wearing a special birthday hat that he got from his school:

It was a fun birthday party, even though I had some cooking disasters.  And then we enjoyed some sun.  Yes, it does come out once in a while.
