Valencia, Spain

We absolutely had to run away from Luxembourg to get some sun.  The lack of sun probably is one of the most challenging things for us to overcome.

After a short flight and a metro ride we strolled through the Turia River Bed garden.  It is an absolutely beautiful garden that was developed in the old river bed.

 

We did not wait too long and as soon as we dropped of our luggage we took of to the beach.

I absolutely love the architecture.  I know I probably say this in every place we have visited, but each city is so unique and beautiful and cool, I love seeing that kind of personalization that each city/country has developed.

 

This is not the first time I see Braille signs posted in a city squares or museums.  I think it is rather cool.

Science and Arts center.  Kids loved the spaceship look.

 

We are enjoying some Spanish Horchata.  It tasted a little different from the Mexican recipe because they use local Spanish nuts to make this drink.

In the evening we enjoyed no hands volleyball game on the beach.

Birthday Week

Our little boy turned 5!!! So now this is his new favorite number.  Since Ian's birthday fell on a weekday we had a party on Sunday to accommodate everyone schedule.  For about a year Ian has been talking about LEGO party, so after many Internet ideas we had us a LEGO party. The celebration lasted about a week.


Kids did not want to wait until the cake, so they attacked the Lego cookies  ;))

We have organized a game to play with the kids.

 

They were to carry a Lego piece in a spoon, walk around the cones and build Lego tower.

 

We had to use Carolyn's translation services since the kids at our party spoke about five different languages.

 

After cake it was piñata time.  Here Ashley is explaining the rules. Some of the kid have never seen a piñata. 

 

And then it was Lego little people photo shoot  ;)))))))

 

Then two day later we celebrated again with the kids in the ABC group.

Park Merveilleux 2013

This our second post about this park that is located in Bettermbourg.  We liked it so much during our first visit that we had to come back.

Many outdoor attractions in Luxembourg open on April 1st, however this year it has been rainy and cold for a very long time so it was a while before we could visit.  We made a special day out of this with the several friends and a grand picnic.

This park is the closest to the zoo that Luxembourg has.

 

Those baby goats were everyone's favorites.

 

 

There are the bigger kiddos.

 

By the end of the day weather got nice enough to loose the jackets.  Fun times!!!

 

Little Britain in the middle of Luxembourg

Ok, I am not sure if it is in the middle of Luxembourg, but this store was very fun to visit.  They mostly cater to the British population of the Luxembourg, however there were some American goodies as well.

Ashley and I had hard time deciding what to buy because the prices had some sharp teeth in them. But after all we did get some Jelly Bellies.
